Arc Willy Okafor has blamed the AUC building collapse in Aguleri on poor structural design.
He therefore, said he got involved only in buying of the land because it was their family land and also helped in only Architectural drawing.
"I helped the AWF in Architectural drawing, I was not paid for the drawing. It was another person that did the structural design. Infact, Engr Basil Manafa introduced one Ebuka Edoziogo who did the job".
Speaking further, Arc Okafor lamented that every Tom, Dick and Harry is now an Engineer in Aguleri.
" Iam saddened that everyone is now a builder in Aguleri. Let them do their things the way they want it because no body paid me".

" I don't have much to say, they left Ugulu and accused me when I know my professional standing".
Arc Okafor said, that he has distinguished himself professionally and no amount of accusations can bring him down.
Responding, Engr Basil Manafa stated that he did not introduce Ebuka but he only volunteered himself as a member of Aguleri world Forum. In his words,
" Iam not a civil Engineer, I was only there at the very beginning. Attended the committee meetings with PA Willy and Ebuka".
Ugulu said that when the building had issue for the first time, there were a lot of complaints and his view was to conduct a proper investigation and not to be emotional.
" The right thing to do is not to be emotional so we don't miss the point".
" Let's review the whole processing so we can have a record".
"When the costing was done, it was about #300m. The AWF leadership were afraid to announce the huge budget in other not to discourage members".
He said as a result of this, most of the workers were volunteers.
" My own stand in AWF is to patronize Ndi Aguleri before others"
He said that Engr Ebuka handled some good jobs for AWF, such as the the sculpture in Aguleri junction and has also developed several projects for AWF. He added that Ebuka seems to be the only volunteer amongst other Aguleri engineers.
" Ebuka's major weakness is on delivering quality job. May be he learnt from a company that patronizes low quality".
" Ebuka was reducing the quality to save cost and we tried to control him. Which was the only help I gave them".
"For me, he has made a mistake and we need to properly investigate it because there was also a fire incident before the collapsing of the building, these should call for a full investigation".
He added that if AWF was buoyant enough, they would have given out the job to a contractor.
" The young Ebuka is not that bad. The AWF should investigate what happened to the staircase, it was only the staircase that was affected, as I was told. But that is still enough to put fear in the minds of people".
He concluded that PA Willy and Ebuka were having meetings together and it was PA Willy that released funds to Ebuka and wondered why he did not monitor the work before releasing the funds.
Engr Ebuka Edoziogo on his own response through a telephone conversation accused Arc. Willie Okafor of drawing both architectural and Structural designs of the building.
"I pointed some of these errors on the structural design to Arc. Willie Okafor when I was handed over the plan, he urged me to carry on with the project because he doesn't need too much pillars under the decking.
"Arc Okafor worked as a consultant and the law says I should work under his supervision".
The Eziagulu Aguleri born civil Engineer concluded that his only mistake was not to had backed out when his professional advise was ignored.
The AUC building has allegedly consumed a whooping sum of over N60m before it's collapse. While the team of engineers blamed the collapse on poor structural design,. But none of them has admitted to be responsible for the structural design.

Late Oliaku Nwenyi was a powerful woman leader in Aguleri.
She solved a lot of problems for her followers which attracted her a lot of love, respect and popularity.
Indeed, the family and friends in the society and the entire Omabala people will miss Mrs Obukaodiroalo.
