Amid a seeming low turnout and apathy of voters in Anambra East constituency on Saturday, one person was reportedly shot and two buildings were destroyed in Enugwu Otu Aguleri, Anambra East Local Government Area of the state during last Saturday's election.
Our correspondent gathered that at Ama Enugwu Otu, the APGA supporters having observed that YPP was leading during vote counting rushed the ballot box and began to tear the ballot papers. The action provoked the YPP supporters who engaged them on a physical fight and some people sustained various degrees of injuries.
One of the torched building is owned by one Ezebilo Ojinka .
Explaining the incident to OMT reporters, Mr Luke Nnazor said APGA thugs stormed their pooling unit in some vehicles while they were trying to count their votes at Enugwu Otu.
"Further electoral violence continued as rampaging thugs invaded other pooling units and destroyed electoral materials in Enugwu Otu Aguleri"
Enugwu Otu recorded the highest number of violence in the just concluded HOA election.
Report has it that some pooling units were marred by violence, over voting as BVAS did not work in some APGA controlled pooling units.
