There was pandemonium in Aguleri junction on Wednesday evening, June 12th 2023 over news of rampaging gunmen.
Lately, residents of Aguleri and other parts of the Anambra East have come under attacks.
A victim who simply identified himself with the name, "Igwe Naira" said the gunmen abducted him and drove him in his vehicle from Aguleri Junction towards Ngene Okwuazu - Umueri road.
He said he was inside a Lexus 330, parked in front of a shop in Aguleri junction when he was approached by the gun men.
"They were all armed with AK-47 riffles. I was ordered to the back of the vehicle, they got into the car and drove off".
The victim stated further that they drove him to Oroma-Mmiata Anam where they asked him to make call for ransom, and as he was about to make the call, they asked him how much was in his possession and immediately searched him, and collected the sum of #7,000 in his possession. He said the gun men got a way with the Lexus 330, two mobile phones and other valuables in his car.
The victim said he managed to break free and got a motorcycle that conveyed him back to Aguleri junction.
