 IGWE OCHIAGHA EZIAGULU OTU AGULERI  CELEBRATES NEW YAM FESTIVAL/THANKSGIVING.

The culture of Eziagulu Otu Aguleri community in  Anambra East Area was brought to the fore as the traditional ruler of the community, Igwe Lawrence Nwofia ( Igwe Ochiagha)  performed the 2023 new yam festival of the community.

 

The festival which took place at Ama Okpata in Eziagulu Otu started with a thanksgiving mass  where they appreciated God for a bountiful harvest.     

 

Also present were the cabinet chiefs led by the Onowu Eziagulu Otu, Chief Ikegbune Chukwuma ( Ochinanwanwa)  and other personalities like Cabinet Chairman, Chief Edwin Okechi, Chief Alex Onukwuo (Ogene Eziagulu Otu) and the youths of  the community who after raising a huge amount for the development of the community, they also came to felicitate with Igwe Ochiagha on this year’s celebration.

Speaking at the event, the traditional ruler said that the celebration of the new yam was a way of showing appreciation to God in order to attract more blessings, development and progress for the community.

Highlight of the occasion were: traditional wrestling competitions, masquerade performances and procession of Inyom and Umu Ada of Eziagulu Otu Aguleri.
